For 10 years Boulder Kirtan has been a place to gather together in devotional singing, known as Kirtan. We chant together by repeating Sacred Names and Mantras in Sanskrit . These ancient tools help to quiet the mind so that the heart can open to the Divine, allowing us to experience the blissful reality that is our True Nature. In this participatory spiritual practice, everyone in the room is encouraged to sing loudly, clap and express their inner joy. Devotion, not musical ability, is the most important aspect. It is the Pure Love we feel in our Heart of Hearts that is our focus.

Jai Jagadambe Jai Jai Ma!!

Change from within

"Society is made up of individuals. The thoughts and actions of each individual influence the culture of that society. Instead of waiting for others to improve,
we should try to improve ourselves. Once our attitude has changed,
we will be able to perceive goodness throughout world.
If there is a positive change in us, it will also be reflected in others.
It is only what we give that we can hope to get back."

--Mata Amritanandamayi Devi

“Only in the depth of pure silence can we hear God’s voice.”

“God is compassion. He is waiting at the door of every heart. He is an uninvited guest everywhere, because whether you call Him or not, He is there. Whether you are a believer or a nonbeliever, He is within you uninvited. Behind every form, behind everything, God is hiding. He beautifies things and makes them what they are. He is the hidden formula of life. But He won’t reveal Himself to you. You won’t feel Him unless you call Him. Prayer is the invitation. You must invoke Him through prayer and meditation. Chanting, singing and repeating the mantra are invitations, asking God to reveal Himself.”
